WFT Cloud, a SAP-certified provider of cloud and hosting services has announced a new initiative of migrating existing data centers to a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) for enterprise software landscapes, reports PRWEB. WFT recognizes the fact that customers are tasked everyday to improve their business agility ,speed of innovation, service quality, business continuity and minimize downtime, total cost of ownership ( both capital expenses (CapEx) and operating expenses (OpEx)).To achieve this, WFT leverages solutions that provide standardization, visualization, orchestration and automation. Automation is a key factor to lower operating costs, increase productivity (agility), availability, reliability (quality) and performance (speed). Undoubtedly, it is the increased demand for cost-effective and flexible data-center solutions along with the requirements for resource pooling, break down of vendor lock-ins and automatic networking configurations that shapes the future of the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC). Even though the solutions can be independently operated, they can be integrated together to provide an overall cost-effective solution for the data center. According to a recent IDC report, innovations in processing power, high demand for resource pooling and manual/custom networking configurations are some of the major forces that drive enterprise customers. Customers that are already running solutions in a virtualized environment or are in the process of virtualization are looking forward to gain a better competitive advantage within their data center, by extending intelligent and integrated management platforms through SDDC for better automation. To reap the benefits of consolidation, seven years ago WFT Cloud has implemented server virtualization in-house. The next phase in the roadmap for SDDC was network virtualization, which was achieved with implementation of software-defined networking, which currently provides the core routing, VPN and firewall functionalities. Then comes the storage virtualization, which is still in the process of rolling out. WFT Cloud brilliantly deploys this architecture internally for SAP solution landscapes and intends to use this knowledge to solve customers’ business problems and provide automated service provisioning capabilities.
